Who we are.
CTL is an initiative designed to support researchers, journalists, NGOs, and democracy advocates during times of rapid technological change. As we know, dictatorships often thrive by hiding facts, distorting reality, and manipulating memory. Our mission is to combat these tactics by identifying key challenges for those who promote democratic values and creating scalable and easy-to-use technological solutions. We bring together diverse expertise in computer science, social science, media studies, and design to develop comprehensive solutions.
Ownership.
You acknowledge that all the intellectual property rights, including copyrights, patents, trademarks, and trade secrets, in the Site and its content are owned by CTL and CTL’s partners and suppliers. Neither these Terms (nor your access to the Site) transfers to you or any third party any rights, title or interest in or to such intellectual property rights.
3. Intellectual property right of others.
We respect intellectual property rights and if you believe that your work has been used in a way that infringes your copyright, then please contact us and provide proof of infringement.
4. Site content usage rules.
Information and material on our Site may be used by any user in good faith without obtaining our written permission and at no charge, except for the restrictions set out in these Terms. In each case of use, users must provide a reference to the source and a hyperlink to our Site from which the material was used. Commercial use of information and material from our Site is subject to our written consent only.
5. Third-party links and ads.
The Site may contain links to third-party websites and services, and/or display advertisements for third parties. Such links and ads are not under the control of CTL, and CTL is not responsible for them. 6. Dispute resolution.
We aim to resolve any conflicts or issues related to the use of our Site without formal legal proceedings. Before filing a claim against us, you agree to try resolving the dispute informally by sending a written notice to our email address, including your name, details of the dispute, and the remedies you seek. We will attempt to resolve the dispute informally by contacting you via email. If the dispute is not resolved within 60 days after your notice, either party may proceed with a formal lawsuit.
7. Term and termination.
These Terms will remain in full force and effect while you use the Site. We may suspend or terminate your rights to use the Site at any time for any reason at our sole discretion, including for any use of the Site in violation of these Terms.
8. Changes.
We reserve the right to change these Terms unilaterally at any time without notice to users. The changes will come into force from the moment they are published on our Site.
